NEW ZEALAND 2009

The Crusty Demons Unleash Hell Tour, Presented by Rockstar Energy Drink

The Full International Spectacular

COMING TO NEW ZEALAND IN 2009

The Crusty Demons are returning to New Zealand crazier and more extreme than ever!

The Crusty Demons will return freestyle motocross (FMX) mayhem to New Zealand in February 2009 with its hugely successful Unleash Hell Tour which has been touring the UK, Ireland & Australia.

New Zealand audiences in Napier, Wellington, Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch, Auckland, Hamilton, New Plymouth and Nelson are set to witness the most death-defying trick in extreme sport, the double back flip, performed on a 200kg, 250cc dirt bike. Australia's Cam Sinclair will be performing the trick, which has only ever been completed a handful of times in history, only twice outside the USA, and never before in New Zealand.

Each show will be a huge entertainment extravaganza and will be the only chance for New Zealand fans to see the world’s top riders in action. The star studded line-up includes world number one Nate Adams, X Games gold medalist Adam Jones, world number three Mike Mason, Jim McNeil and Nicky Danielson all direct from the USA.

New Zealand’s own Luke Smith is sure to unleash some insane riding for his home crowd along with Levi Sherwood who is one of the biggest upcoming talents in FMX across the globe.

Australia’s number one Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams will also be performing with fellow Aussies Steve Mini, Matt Schubring, Joel Balchin and Cam Sinclair.

Global Action Sports Managing Director, Mike Porra, said that New Zealand Crusty fans will be blown away by this tour which features the biggest FMX stunts ever performed.

“We are so stoked to be bringing this tour to New Zealand. This is the full international show that is a much larger production than 2007 with more ramps, riders, bikes, pyrotechnics and entertainment. It is guaranteed to leave people gasping for breath and is all about getting the adrenaline pumping.

“The world’s top riders perform exclusively with the Crusty Demons outside of competitions. So if you want to see the biggest, craziest tricks in the world, you’ll have to come to a Crusty show.

“Our riders love touring in New Zealand, the crowds are insane, so the riding will be off the hook. Witnessing the double back flip live will be one of the most spectacular things you will ever see in action sport.

“The extremely dangerous trick requires a ramp that propels the rider close to 10 feet higher than a normal freestyle trick – almost 55 feet in the air. The rotation is almost twice as fast as for a normal back flip and so the consequences of crashing from that height with the bike spinning so fast are beyond comprehension. ”

Sinclair, the rider performing the double back flip said that he is looking forward to performing the trick in New Zealand because he knows how much the crowds will appreciate it.

“The trick is way too dangerous to practice outside the foam pit so all you can do is go for it when the stakes are high and when you have a huge crowd to cheer and motivate you."

“New Zealand will be a great place to pull it off because I know there are a lot of fans there that will understand the difficulty of what I will be attempting. They will be loud and crazy which is what I need to get the adrenaline pumping and get me over the line.”

As well as the double back flip fans can expect to see more than 50 different tricks performed at the shows including the most difficult of all tricks, back flip combinations, where riders perform various FMX tricks whilst upside down in the middle of a back flip! These include the nac flip, the side saddle lander flip, heel clicker flip, cordova flip, lazy boy flip, shaolin flip, the 360 and the incredible ruler flip where the rider hangs almost straight down from the bike in the middle of a flip. X Games medalist Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams will also perform the world’s only three part combo – three separate freestyle tricks, during a back flip!

Since 1994 the Crusty Demons video and DVD series has become the biggest selling action sports series of all time, creating FMX legends such as Seth Enslow, Mad Mike Jones and Brian Deegan. Drawing on this success, FMX and the Crusty Demons are now the most popular and wanted of all the action sports, globally.

The live shows were created in 2003 and were an instant hit with almost US$100 million in ticket sales generated in the USA, Australia, New Zealand India and the UK. This makes them one of the most successful action sports touring acts ever to visit those countries.

The Unleash Hell Tour will make its way around New Zealand in 2009 visiting Napier (24 January), Wellington (31 January), Invercargill (4 February), Dunedin (7 February), Christchurch (11 February), Hamilton (14 February), Auckland (21 February), New Plymouth (25 February) and Nelson (28 February) with more shows to be announced soon.

Tickets will be on sale on October 12 2008 with further announcements to come. Keep an eye on the website at www.crusty.com for ticket sale information and to see highlights and behind the scenes footage as the Unleash Hell Tour travels the world.
